White House claims President Biden has been to the border despite no record of any visit

White House press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre insists that President Biden visited the U.S. Mexico border , even though there is no record of him being there.

These comments were made in response to a question from Fox News’ Peter Doocy about whether President Biden had RSVP’d Rep. Kevin McCarthy to the border.

“We know the president’s never been down to the border. The next speaker may say that he wants Biden to go with him. So, is he going? Doocy was curious.

“He has been there. He’s been to border. Since he took office …,” Jean Pierre replied before Doocy interjected, “When did he get to the border?”

Jean-Pierre evaded the question and instead blamed Republicans for their supposed unwillingness to work with the president on fixing immigration and securing the border.

“They’re doing political stunts. They want to do that. Jean-Pierre stated that this is how they want to handle the situation.

President Biden did not visit the southern border for nearly two years during his presidency, as the country struggles with a unique border crisis. He also did not visit the border as vice president.

Doocy pressed then-White House press secretary Jen Psaki on the same issue last year.

“Why did President Biden claim he had been to the border?” Doocy asked Psaki. He was referring to remarks made by Biden at a CNN town hall.

Psaki referred to Biden’s drive by the border in El Paso, Texas more than a decade ago, while he was running for the presidency as Barack Obama’s running-mate. But, the most important thing for everyone to understand is that the president has worked in these areas throughout his career and is well-versed with every aspect of our immigration system including the border — even when he was vice-president.” Psaki explained to reporters.

Fox News Digital has reached out to the White House for comment.

Under pressure, Biden named Vice President Kamala Harris to head up border security efforts in 2021. In June 2021, Harris visited El Paso, which is about 800 miles from the heaviest concentration of illegal border crossings around Hidalgo County, Texas.
