Visit the Fredonia Hotel and Convention Center

Since 1955, The Fredonia Hotel & Convention Center has been a luxurious oasis in East Texas. Despite ownership changes and the challenges of a changing economy it has always returned to its former glory. In 2017 the owners gave her a $17 million renovation, breathing life into the historic building. The renovation included the creation of three restaurants: 1st City Cafe, a lovely spot for brunch with bright colors and a stunning view of the pool; Nine Flags Bar, a gorgeous industrial styled bar with seasonal cocktails and delicious dinners; and The Republic Steakhouse, the finest dining in town with a classic 1950’s flare boasting the best cuts of steak in Texas.

The menu at 1 st City Cafe & Nine Flags Bar combines old favorites with new twists on American traditions. There are many fresh flavors available so there is something for everyone. Tourists and locals alike love the Napa Chopped Salad, as well as appetizers such the “Trifecta”, which includes guacamole and queso. The entrees are always a hit with dishes such as Shrimp & Grits or Gruene Chicken Enchiladas.

The Republic Steakhouse is a high-end restaurant that you would expect to find in large urban centers. It also has the historic charm Nacogdoches is famous for. The Republic Steakhouse features prime Texas beef and wild-caught seafood. It also offers a wide range of wines that will leave you wondering if there’s ever another meal like it. This intimate restaurant is the perfect place to unwind after a long day. Tip: Try the Old Fashioned, a wood-smoked cocktail.

This boutique hotel in the middle of Manhattan is a must-see. You’re sure to enjoy a wonderful getaway, weekend getaway for the girls, or business convention. Come hungry!
