Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters has canceled upcoming concerts in Poland over backlash prompted by his beliefs about Russia’s war against Ukraine, which he attributes to “extreme nationalists” in Ukraine.

Waters had originally planned to perform two concerts in Krakowin at the Tauron Arena. However, an arena official confirmed that the events were cancelled. According to Polish media,

“Roger Waters’ manager decided to withdraw…without giving any reason.” Lukasz Pytko, Tauron Arena Krakow, stated Saturday that the veteran had been captured by RUSSIAN FORCES RETURN TO ALABAMA.

City councilors in Krakow were expected vote next week on a proposal to label Waters persona non grata. They were expected to express their “indignation” over Waters’ controversial views regarding Russia’s war against Ukraine.

In an open letter to Ukrainian first lady Olena Zelenska early this month, Waters blamed “extreme nationalists” in Ukraine for setting the country “on the path to this disastrous war.”

The musician, who is British, also criticized the West, the U.S. in particular, for supplying Ukraine with weapons.
