Dog in Houston beat a nasty disease and is now up for adoption
Meet Benson is a three-year old Houston pup looking for a forever home.
Benson is a mix between a retriever, and a Catahoula. He is one of many dogs available for adoption at Best Friends Houston.
The adorable dog was adopted by Best Friends in Houston through a shelter in Houston called Harris County Pets. This shelter is one of many animal intake shelters in Houston.

Benson is great with people as well as other dogs. He is eager to find his forever family.

Benson had heartworm while at the shelter. Benson was unable to find the resources to help him, so he came to Best Friends.
Benson was quickly placed in a foster home, where he settled in well.
“Benson has been a loyal companion since the beginning. Fox News Digital reported that Benson loves to be given attention, as well as to be nuzzled and cuddled.

During his time in his foster home, Benson has become very social with people and with other dogs, while also being a calm co-worker in the home office, the staff reported.
Benson is currently in Houston and is looking for his forever family.

Benson enjoys walks during the day and loves to meet and greet neighbors, Fox News Digital is told. Benson enjoys playing with his tennis ball and other toys. He also loves to snuggle up in front of the TV with his foster family.
