Blossoms & Brews–A Fresno County Winter
Fun In Full Bloom
Petals have started to fall in Fresno County (California) this winter. Journey through 70 miles of pink and white blossoms along the Fresno County Blossom Trail-a gorgeous representation of the county’s leading agricultural footprint. Fresno County is a top agricultural region. Some of its crops, such as oranges and almonds, bloom from mid-February to the end March. This flurry of flowers will take you to the California flower blizzard.
There are many special events and festivals that celebrate the blooming orchards. Learn more about the fruits from local experts, and join the family fun at Sanger Blossom Trail Festival. You can also ride the Blossom Trail Train of Hillcrest Tree Farm; explore Kingsburg’s Swedish Village; and don’t forget your helmets for the Kings River Blossom Trail Bike Ride.
Fresno’s County brewery scene is in full bloom all year round, and it’s an experience you can’t miss. Winter evenings can be spent at the local beer gardens where brewmasters serve handcrafted beers under twinkling lights and are entertained by local musicians.
Downtown Fresno’s Brewery District is lively after dark. Procreations Brewing Company and Full Circle Brewing Company are the anchor breweries. Each offer their own unique take on craft beer. You can find more local hops at the Rec Room Tap House, or enjoy a handcrafted cocktail at Modernist Craft Cocktail Bar and Quail State Rooftop Bar.
In Clovis you can tap into the unique hops being brewed by Summer Fox Brewing. You can also enjoy a growler in Crow and Wolf’s industrial-style taproom. Finally, raise a glass at Tactical Ops Brewing where their taphouse pays homage to the U.S. Military and First Responders. Blast & Brew is a pour-yourself tap house that also offers delicious pub food.
