Jeff Saad

Consultant

Member since 1994

Following his culinary training at the Culinary Institute of America and California Culinary Academy, Jeffrey opened a three-unit restaurant in San Francisco called Sweet Heat, serving tasty, healthful Mexican food. Here he also created and bottled several chile-based chutneys for retail. He later became a partner and served as operations director for Pasta Pomodoro Italian restaurants.

In summer 2009, Jeffrey became a familiar face to viewers of The Next Food Network Star, where he finished second, beating out nine other finalists to achieve the number two spot. Jeffrey’s style is “Cooking Without Borders,” reflecting his love of international cuisine, especially Mexican, Southwestern and Italian. On the show, he was known for his unflappable “zen” approach, his personality and charm, and his full-flavored cooking style. Today, Jeffrey is cooking around the country with other Food Network chefs, appearing in a Food Network webcast called “The Spice Smuggler” and is the National Spokesperson for the American Egg Board.
